"World Changers" Art Exhibit by Joe Bohrer at Gallery Grazioso

Gallery Grazioso is hosting a 6 week exhibit of large scale mixed media portrait paintings by Joe Bohrer, a.k.a. Utopia Joe entitled "World Changers." For complete event details please visit our website at www.TheGalleryGrazioso.com

Joe Bohrer is mostly known for his work as an environment designer and furniture maker, with guest appearances on HGTV, and original creation and production of his own television series called Utopia Joe, airing on PBS in 2008. The show focused on the real-life side of making art in Oklahoma, and not only showcased Joe's creative savvy in front of the camera, but behind the camera as well, as a writer, director, editor and producer.

Since 2008, Joe immersed himself into a cocoon of creativity with production work in San Francisco followed by projects in the Midwest only to be recently discovered in Guthrie, Oklahoma, developing a hefty body of work.

"World Changers" will be Bohrer's first gallery showing in over a decade in the state of Oklahoma. He has evolved with focus and intensity that generates a fresh new look of very large oversized paintings debuting on canvas, wood and even some steel.

Joe Bohrer is reinvigorating the art of portrait painting with boldly-colored, up-close, and larger-than-life iconic figures that represent the mysterious divine spirit that act with profound influences as world changers--a Tibetan child, a Native American warrior, rock legend Wayne Coyne, movie stars, every day people, a fireman, buddha monk, and without exception, Joe's beloved muse--his wife.

"In life, simplicity can be powerful. Everything I have done as a man, a father, a husband, and artist in my life, has lead me to my most passionate body of work. I call it "World Changers."  Our love of music, or influence in life, or the launching of a thousand ships because of one beautiful face, is profound, and yet so simple."  -Joe Bohrer, Artist

"I am trying to bring the viewer face to face with larger-than-life portraits of powerful images that comes in many different, and often times, unexpected forms."  - Joe Bohrer, Artist

"And for those of you asking what could be next after producing your own TV show? You'll just have to make the short drive up I-35 to see with your own eyes." - Joe Bohrer

"As a the Director of Gallery Grazioso I am thrilled to have this direct and powerful opportunity to promote some of  the best artists in Oklahoma and to help them change the world one painting at a time.  Joe's latest series of works represent something very different than anything I have ever seen from him before... a softer side with an enchanting humility translated so boldly that it will be absolutely irresistible."  -Tiffany Bohrer, Executive Director of Gallery Grazioso

"The eyes are the portal to the soul. And for me, they are the focal point of what I am doing now. To capture the flash point of a child's eye, or fierceness of an ancient Native American warrior, or the luster of a geisha girl, begins with the eyes. Whether I use gray tones or bold splashes of color, the eyes are the pinnacle." - Joe Bohrer, Artist

"Joe's oversized fine art makes a powerful statement with color and pop that will fill your space with very strong and empowering design the instant you hang it on your wall." - Jennifer Gray, Owner of She-Jitzu, Gracie University Certified Instructor with Gracie Bully-proof Programs
