1. Promote Others

The energy you give away always attracts the very same energy back into your life. The old saying, “treat others how you want to be treated” never loses its touch. If you desire promotion, then promote others. If you need a job, then help someone else find a job.

2. Be Thankful

Saying “thank you” with a gift, kind twitter word, or personal card is such a natural way to create long lasting relationships in every venue, whether its friends, business, press or even your competition. If I am about to host an “I think I’ll Eat Worms Party”, I cure my special event’s cuisine with a deep breath and a thoughtful strategy of at least five things that I am thankful for in my life.

3. Listen

They say the best communicators are the best listeners. This same application can be artfully played in the marketplace. Listen to your clients, friends, your boss, your community and the world. Listening is more than just hearing. It is careful observation followed by a thorough assessment of the needs and sensitivities of those around you. Paying attention to the requests, complaints, or suggestions of others will always call for better questions that lead you into a place of creation for filling a niche of a unique product or service that will have an extremely high value.

4. Say it to Make It

Choose and use your words carefully to ultimately change your situation for a higher good. Our words are very powerful. Words declare expectations to ourselves and the world. They can execute decisive paths of prosperity or destruction. When faced with the query of weakness, use your words to boldly answer with strength. Obstacles are always preceding the birth of innovation. Be patient with silence when needed and remember to speak with brave responsibility when it is time to take a stand.

5. Act Like a Hero to Be a Hero

Heroes are brave, faithful, decisive and life saving. If you dally with the over-baked analysis of too many options or simply wishing for the secrets of life to come true, you may feel more like a deer in headlights than a hero. Act as if you are a hero. Be brave. Knock on that door. Make that phone call. Visit that company in person. Walk into that art gallery with a freakin’ huge heroically sized painting in your hands. Write the letter. Then do it again. Everyday. The answers you are seeking will be revealed as a result of your act of faith.
